New Solar Technology Traps Sunlight

Exciting new advancements are taking solar energy into a whole new direction.  Roberto De Luca and Aniello Fedullo, two researchers from the University of Salerno in Italy, created a new way to trap sunlight and harness its power.  The sunlight trap system uses two parabolic mirrors facing each other to continually reflect the lap between the two. Solar radiation is thus concentrated and then sent to a blackbody where it can then be stored.

What makes this new technology so extraordinary is the multitude of possible uses.  This energy could be focused at water, which would then turn into steam to power turbines for electricity.  Exciting news from Europe.
