Sunlight Solar Talks the Talk and Walks the Walk

Everyone knows that GREEN is the cool thing to do these days. Most of us do it because its the right thing to do for the future of our planet, but many companies have popped up to capitalize on this without practicing what they preach.  This is NOT the case with Sunlight Solar, an Oregon based solar installation company.  Sunlight Solar is a true example of companies that not only talk the talk, but walk the walk, too.

For starters, Sunlight Solar was founded in the 80's - way before it was "cool" to be green (remember the aerosol hairspray??).

The Oregon headquarters is 100% solar powered, and they (I think this is super cool) have a solar powered electric vehicle charging station which is open to the community.  This means if you drive a plug in electric vehicle you can stop by and charge up using solar energy to power your car.

Employees work hard to greenify every aspect of their lifestyle - wearing organic clothing, driving Prius' and other hybrid and electric vehicles, and using bio-diesel in all of their trucks.  They participate in community events in all of the communities they serve (Oregon, Massachusetts, Connecticut) They use recycled products whenever possible and use sustainable building materials, as well.  Employees find ways to carpool, bike, or walk to work to further reduce their carbon footprint.

I hope some CEO's are reading this article and taking some info on how to improve their corporate social responsibility through steps that are big and small.  Thanks Sunlight Solar for your contribution to our future.
