I'm really excited to be reviewing a craft box from Green Kid Crafts! And, I'm even more excited to let everyone know that next week we'll be doing an awesome giveaway where one lucky reader will win a craft box! Yay! (Stay tuned for that!)... read more
I'm very excited to be reviewing the Litter Free Lunch products from New Wave Enviro.
I'm a big proponent of the waste-free lunch. Whenever possible, it's important to avoid anything that's single use - Ziplocs, snack baggies, brown paper bags, juice boxes, soda cans, water bottles...you get the picture. This Litter Free Lunch kit can help. Here's what it comes with:... read more
world's best cat litterIf you have cats, you've probably seen the World's Best Cat Litter for sale on Amazon and pet chains like Petco and Petsmart. You might be thinking "wow, that's quite a claim!" But, I've gotta say, it's darn good cat litter.
Most notably, it's made of whole corn kernels. No gross synthetic perfumey scent, no puff of powder when you're pouring it into the box. It's just good old fashioned corn grown on American farms. And because it's made of corn, it's safe for animals, unlike many types of clay litters.... read more
I am phasing out our old plastic food containers (and I never use them in the microwave, BPA-free or not) -- they really get gross after a while, they "pill" and they don't hold up well. I love glass and stainless steel, but when my toddler and I are on the go, glass isn't always terribly practical. It's heavy and breakable. We also love our reusable sandwich bags but for some things (like crackers or cereal bars) they just get crushed in my bag. Stainless steel is where it's at! ... read more
The Double Wall Hot/ Cold Insulated Stainless Steel Bottle from New Wave Enviro is AWESOME. Seriously.
I am a stickler for temperatures when it comes to my beverages. I like hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. This bottle keeps drinks the proper temperature for hours. I can brew tea in there at 2 PM and it's still hot at 4...not just warm, but actually HOT. It's amazing. I'll be carrying this thing with me all winter long, since in the cooler months I chug tea like there's no tomorrow!
And as for iced drinks? It keeps them ice cold for hours. We left iced coffee in the car all afternoon (in August!) and there were still ice cubes in it when we returned. Amazing.... read more
I'm a big fan of Chipkos and their awesome, eco-friendly sandals. Chipkos Footwear is an eco-friendly footwear company that protects one hundred square feet of the rain forest per product purchased. Chipkos is most well known for their Chipkos Original Sandals available for men and women.
I first came across Chipkos back in April and I was immediately drawn to the unique look of their sandals, the green materials that they use, and their dedication to saving the rainforest. Now, I am excited to finally being reviewing the sandals!... read more
As my son has gotten older, I've found that with an extra insert SmartiPants diapers work extremely well. I initially had a lot of problems with these diapers leaking (see first review below) when my son was small. Now that he's 2, after I put in an extra insert they work a lot better than BumGenius. Especially now that my son can rip open the velcro cloth diapers!
I don't know why these leaked so much when my son was small. But these are excellent toddler diapers and I'm bumping up my review to 4 stars. ... read more
I use this for almost all of my son's baths now and we absolutely love it. It gets super bubbly without having to use too much, it smells great (we have been using the calming lemon-lavender scent), and it keeps my son's sensitive skin nice and soft.
I stumbled upon this after looking for a less expensive green alternative to California Baby's Bubble Bath, which I really like but it's just so expensive. I noticed this huge bottle ($13.99 for 32 oz vs. California Baby's $10.99 for 13 oz.) and grabbed it immediately. I was already a fan of Everyday Shea's shampoos, so I couldn't wait to use this.... read more
I am a lip balm junkie. I've been a lip balm junkie since I was in kindergarten, and I imagine I will be for the rest of my life. Luckily, there are a lot more lip balm options than when I was a kid, and I don't have to resort to artifical-tasting and lip-drying Lip Smackers and Chapstick.
EO's lavender lip balm tastes natural and not overly perfumey, as it is made with a blend of essential oils instead of a concotion of mystery fragrances. It goes on smooth and helps even very chapped lips. It's definitely one of my favorite lip balms, and it's cheaper than many other certified organic lip balms that I've found.... read more
