Interested in home solar, but not sure if it's the right choice for you?  Is this the green field you wish to pursue?

Acterra is an established environmental group in Palo Alto, California. Acterra was formed in 2000 by the merger of two of the region's most respected and effective environmental organizations: the Peninsula Conservation Center Foundation (founded in 1970) and Bay Area Action (formed in 1990). Acterra's mission is to bring people together to create local solutions for a healthy planet.

Acterra presents a free informative workshop that will help you understand solar applications, photovoltaic (PV) collectors and analyzing their cost effectiveness. The workshop will help you analyze whether your home and roof are optimally situated to utilize solar collectors - and whether your energy bills justify the expense of installing solar panels. Learn also tips on how to select and work with a solar installer. The workshop will also briefly review the various types of solar hot water systems. Bring your utility bill and a calculator to the workshop.

Instructor Mike Balma has a background in the solar industry including renewable energy analysis at SRI International as well as a career in high tech marketing and an MBA from Stanford.
